Fees, buyouts and usage rights

Fees and usage rights cannot be defined as a flat amount. Experience, production, assignment and intended use must be considered for the specific project.

What influences the fee

The calculation considers the talent’s experience, the production and the intended use together. The same person may therefore have different conditions depending on the assignment and rights granted.

What a buyout describes

A general description such as “online” is not sufficient for rights planning. The usage period, medium and territory are needed, for example TV or print and use in Germany, DACH or internationally.

VELMA as guidance

Just In Cast uses the VELMA buyout list as guidance, a reference table for types of use and regions. It does not replace an individual calculation and is not always directly transferable to current social media use.

Possible additional costs

Travel, accommodation, catering and the agreed rights can form separate cost items alongside the assignment itself. These points should be transparent in the briefing or offer before the selection.

Option and binding booking

An option is not yet a binding booking. The booking becomes binding only once the booking process has been completed. Changes to date, location or scope, rebooking and cancellation are governed by the agreed contractual terms.
