Questions about casting, selection and booking
Here you will find answers to general questions about requests, preselection, e-casting, availability, fees and booking. Category-specific information is available directly with the relevant talents.
Request and selection
How does a request at Just In Cast work?
You can send us your briefing by email. It should contain the key project details and your requirements for the cast. If you already have specific talents in mind, you can alternatively collect your favourites in the wishlist, complete the request form and send it directly to us. We use this basis to assess the request and coordinate the next steps with you.
Which project details does Just In Cast need for an initial selection?
For an initial selection, we need the type of production, date, location, role or talent category, visual and professional requirements, budget and buyout as clearly as possible. It is also important to state whether travel, accommodation and other additional costs are covered. Moods or examples help when a particular effect or type is required. The more complete the information is, the more specifically we can select suitable profiles.
Can I make a request if the required talent profile has not yet been fully defined?
Yes, of course. We can develop the required profile together with you. Even at this stage, the project basics, intended effect, available moods and budget are helpful. They allow us to identify step by step which talent category and profiles make sense for the request.
Can I combine several roles or talent categories in one request?
Yes. It is best to define the requirements for each role separately. This allows us to search specifically for the right cast for every position, including projects that need actors, models, real people or dancers together.
How does Just In Cast prepare a suitable preselection?
We use your preferred criteria, the briefing and available moods as our guide. We review our database systematically and prepare a suitable selection. Sometimes we also suggest profiles that do not exactly match the initial idea but could work well for the project based on our experience. You choose your favourites from this selection for the next steps.
How current are profiles and sedcards?
Profiles are reviewed and updated regularly. After the initial selection, an e-casting follows as the second step so that you receive a current impression of your favourites and can then decide.
Documents and selection methods
Which documents, work samples and additional information can be requested?
If information required for the selection is not already available in the database, it can be requested from the selected talents where needed. Depending on the category, this may include reels, introduction videos, CVs or other project-related details. The documents actually available must be checked for each case.
Can I request an e-casting, self-tape or current introduction video?
Yes. At Just In Cast, the e-casting follows the initial selection as the second step. The task given to the favourites depends on the specific project.
Availability and commitment
How and when is a talent’s availability checked?
We check availability once you have selected your favourites from the initial selection. A profile or sedcard alone does not mean that the talent is available on the specific date.
What is an option, and is it already a binding booking?
An option is not yet a binding booking. The talent keeps the requested date free until your final decision and is generally unavailable for other jobs during this period. Options can be released again. The booking becomes binding only once the booking process has been completed.
Are short-notice requests possible?
Short-notice requests are possible. Whether they can be fulfilled depends on the project and the availability of suitable talents. Complete details about the job type, date, location, fee, buyout and visual and professional requirements are particularly important. The more precise the briefing is, the faster the request can be assessed.
In which regions can talents be requested, and what should be considered for travel?
Just In Cast places talents throughout Germany and internationally. The location and any travel requirements should be stated from the start. It must also be clear whether travel costs and accommodation are covered. Actual availability and the resulting costs are assessed for the individual project.
Can talents be requested for several days or recurring productions?
Yes. Talents can also be requested for several days or recurring productions. Dates, scope and usage rights should be described as early and clearly as possible. Availability and conditions are assessed for the specific project.
Fees, buyouts and usage rights
Which factors influence a talent’s fee?
Experience, the type and scale of the production and the intended usage rights influence the fee. A flat amount cannot be derived from these factors; the conditions are defined for the specific project.
What is a buyout, and which details are required for usage rights?
A buyout compensates for the use of rights in the material created. The usage period, type of use or medium and territory must be defined for the calculation, for example TV or print and use in Germany, DACH or internationally. The exact amount depends on these details and the individual project.
Which additional costs can arise besides the fee?
Depending on the project, travel, accommodation, catering and buyouts may be added. The applicable positions and who covers them are recorded in the briefing or offer.
Booking and organisation
When is a booking binding?
A booking becomes binding once the booking process has been completed. A preselection, availability check or option is clearly different and does not yet constitute a binding booking.
